Ethnography Manuscript Evaluation

For ethnographic journal articles and books, I offer a detailed manuscript evaluation. This includes two read throughs of the entire manuscript.

For journal articles, you will receive:
  • MS Word comments alongside your manuscript with tips and suggestions on how to improve your article

  • An editorial letter (two to three pages) outlining the main developmental issues with the article (a problem summary) and suggestions for revising the article.

  • Either a thirty-minute feedback session on Zoom, or the opportunity to discuss the letter in detail by email.

For books, you will receive:
  • MS Word comments alongside your manuscript with tips and suggestions on how to improve your book

  • A detailed report of twelve to fifteen pages on the issues that emerged when commenting on your manuscript

  • Either a one-hour feedback session on Zoom, or the opportunity to discuss the letter in detail by email.

The detailed report will cover the following elements:

  • Problems with your manuscript

  • Things you do well

  • Audience

  • Ideas and content

  • Structure, cohesion, and organisation

  • Arguments

  • Theoretical frameworks

  • Mid-level concepts

  • Timeline and pacing

  • Culture and representation

  • Storytelling

  • Messaging

  • Sentence-level issues
